This Give to the Max Day, help our Students Succeed!

After tuition and housing costs, expensive textbook prices may bring an unexpected financial burden for University of Minnesota students and their families. The average cost per semester for textbooks alone is $500

The University of Minnesota Libraries partners with faculty and staff to create and purchase open source e-books, making them available to students for free through their courses. These e-books can be updated directly by faculty members, making them an adaptable, interactive resource for new students each semester.

Your gift to the Targeting Textbooks Project will directly alleviate this financial barrier to students at all levels. With your support, students can be assured that they have all of the tools they need to succeed, without worrying about unexpected expenses. With these open source materials, students can succeed without concern for circumstances beyond their control.

Your donation today has the ability to provide a year's worth of course materials, to be used by every single student in a course, for free!

We're ramping up of efforts here at the Libraries, partnering with even more faculty members to widen the impact. Our goal of $5,000 can support free materials for up to 5,000 students in the coming academic year.
