As many of you know, our beloved friend and colleague, Tina Falkner ('98 MA, '01 PhD), passed away unexpectedly in March 2022. Tina was one of the University of Minnesota's greatest citizens and a champion for the needs of students. Her impact was felt throughout the University as Director for the Office of Student Finance, her extensive service to committees on educational policy/planning, University-wide student services systems, and across higher education broadly as President for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). Her compassion for others (especially those less fortunate), as well as her good humor, sharp wit, and incredible work ethic, infused all of the many roles she held and served as an example to all.
A memorial fund has been established in Tina's name to honor her legacy at the University by supporting students with unmet financial need, a cause she cared about deeply. Please consider giving to this fund and ensure that Tina's commitment to helping students lives on.
