The Parrish Family Fund was created within the University of Minnesota Foundation during the spring of 2022. The goal of this fund is to bring awareness and financial support to Mental Health programing and facilities across all of M Health Fairview.
The demand for mental health services are at an all-time high – especially among children and teens. A recent study found that 20% of youth aged 12-17 already reported a major depressive episode in their lifetime and 12% have had thoughts of suicide. Addressing the mental health crisis in our youth population is imperative in ensuring they have healthy and bright futures ahead of them.
Thankfully, The Twin Cities community has organizations that are committed to fighting the mental health crisis including the Parrish Family Fund (PFF). Inspired by their own personal journey and struggles with mental health, the mission of PFF is to eliminate the stigma around mental health and increase access to care for those who are in dire need of clinical treatment. To accomplish their goals, the PFF has partnered with the M Health Fairview which is the largest provider of mental health and addiction treatment services in the upper Midwest.
