This year, the cost of law school for resident students is $67,222. For nonresident students, it’s $76,078. For many students, especially in their first year, attending school is their full-time job and they have no income.

Sometimes life happens- loans run out, there’s an unexpected cost or a family emergency, and for one reason or another students don’t have the time or financial resources to access nutritious food. And when basic nutritional needs aren’t being met, we can’t expect students to engage academically, professionally, or socially.

Mondale Kitchen is a 24-hour, student-choice pantry in the N20 Suite, providing shelf-stable non-perishables, single-serving ready-to-eat foods, and fresh produce to law students. Together with resources like Nutritious U, SNAP, and local food shelves and pantries, we can ensure that students have access to the nutritious food they need to succeed.

Restocking Mondale Kitchen costs around $200 each week, for an academic year total cost of around $6,000. Success in our crowdfunding campaign will mean we can provide a greater variety and quantity of foods to the law student population. Mondale Kitchen fills a gap for students who may be struggling to put food on their tables for themselves and their families.

If you are unable to give a monetary gift, non-perishables can be donated in the N20 Suite.
