Invest in Minnesota youth through 4-H.
The Science of Agriculture Challenge ignites passion in agriculture, increases ag-science literacy, and expands the pipeline of youth pursuing agricultural careers.
In the Challenge, youth teams partner with local experts and adult mentors to develop science-based solutions to ag-related issues they identify in their community. Teams choose what issue they want to explore: agronomy, animal science, agribusiness, rural communities, food, engineering, and more.
Much like the State Fair is a signature 4-H experience, the Challenge showcases youth learning and community engagement.
Your gift supports exceptional young people.
Every gift, no matter the size, helps Minnesota 4-H grow true leaders.
Your gift helps fund the awards that youth earn by participating in the Challenge. Winning teams earn college scholarship dollars to the college or university of their choice.
- First place team: $1,000 scholarship for each team member
- Second place team: $750 scholarship for each team member
- Third place team: $500 scholarship for each team member
One team also earns a Community Engagement Award given to the group that does the best job of engaging leaders in their community, communicating with others about the solution they developed, and sharing their 4-H story in unique ways.
- Community Engagement Award: $100 for each team member
