Four years ago, I studied abroad with the University of Minnesota. I met my partner in France and now call Paris my hometown. Studying abroad can change the course of your life. It did for me! (Jacqueline Ménoret (formally Stein), Class of 2015).

I have seen study abroad in Italy, France, and other places change and enrich lives countless times. This effort to increase the availability of funds comes at a time when such opportunities for American students seem to me especially important.

Pivotal Journeys

Our spring newsletter generated some fantastic interest and excitement around learning abroad opportunities for our students. We’re thrilled to announce that a generous anonymous donor has committed a $2,500 match to help us launch Pivotal Journeys, a campaign to support the French & Italian Undergraduate Study Abroad Fund.

Until now we have only been able to support a couple students each year in their pursuit of their pivotal journey. Our goal is to make learning abroad accessible for every student studying in French & Italian. Alexandra Glasford, a recent scholarship recipient had this to say about her upcoming learning abroad opportunity:

"Studying abroad will open so many new opportunities for me and help prepare me for my future career. After learning about so many social problems affecting the people of Italy within my classes, I dream of merging my passions of advocating for and ensuring human rights and justice for all people with my love for the Italian language and culture by working in Italy or with the United States to establish policies and protection for all people. This opportunity will expand my mind and network of relationships, and I may further develop and hone my passions to lead me to something new that I have never noticed or understood before going abroad."

Please give today and have your gift matched to create more of these Pivotal Journeys.
