Aurora Center for Student Support Week

A personal campaign sponsored by MSA

May 9, 2022

This fundraiser is organized on behalf of the Minnesota Student Association.

In April, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the MSA Sexual Assault Task Force (pictured above) hosted a benefit concert to raise money in support of the Aurora Center. They were able to raise over $1,000 through that benefit alone!

With their help, we've extended this campaign during Student Support Week, and the goal to $2,500, to help them raise even more awareness and funding for this essential student support,  advocacy and education center.

A gift from you during Student Support Week will provide funding to the Aurora Center to serve, advocate, and care for the UMN community, including victim-survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and/or sexual harassment.

About the Aurora Center

The Aurora Center, founded in 1986, provides free and confidential crises intervention to victims of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and harassment. They offer group therapy, 24-hour text and call helplines, reporting services and support, and education on supporting victimes. Throughout the University community, they spread awareness, provide education, and work to change the campus climate concerning sexual assault. Aurora serves 500-600 people per year with its advocacy services and provides formal education and training to nearly 10,000 UMN students, staff, and faculty each year.

Why Support the Aurora Center

MSA's Sexual Assault Task Force invites you to give charitable donations to the Aurora Center to fund their advocacy and direct support for victim-survivors within our community. Aurora relies on individual donor support to fund many of their services, so we want to ensure they are able to continue serving our campus and making a positive impact on victim-survivors' lives. Aurora's staff and volunteers strive every day to provide their clients with tangible strategies and resources that best support their mental health. Your gift helps the Aurora Center, the students it serves, and the UMN community.

We thank those who were able to attend our benefit concert on 4/29 in support of the Aurora Center and in solidarity with victim-survivors during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

To those considering a gift today: we appreciate any amount that you are able to give to this amazing cause. Please also reshare and repost to help us reach our goal!

Together, we can reach $2,500! Thank you!
