Raptors at Risk for HPAI (bird flu)
Our amazing donors, Tom & Ann Schwalen have increased their generous match to $35,000 after seeing the devastation that Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) is causing raptors. Their generosity comes in response to The Raptor Center's (TRC) unprecedented influx of patients that need the specialized care that only TRC can provide.
We're Having a Baby Shower!
Each spring, The Raptor Center (TRC) sees an influx of around 250 young raptors in need. The first few months of life are the most challenging for these babies as they are especially vulnerable to spring storms, downed trees, failed attempts to fly, and unnecessary human intervention.
With the added challenge of HPAI, our team is working harder than ever to treat the babies in our clinic. HPAI is fatal in 90 to 100% of raptors, and the current outbreak is unprecedented in size, scope, and harm already done to the wild bird population - especially raptors.
A gift to our Baby Shower goes directly to our special raptor hospital and to the care, treatment, and release of the next generation of these majestic birds!
Thanks to a generous match from our amazing donors Tom and Ann Schwalen, your gift will be doubled up to $35,000! That means twice the life-saving impact!
Your Gifts Make a Difference
These two chicks were treated at TRC and saved last spring. Thanks to the work you support through your gifts, they have been able to reach adulthood. Our hospital is nearly 100% donor supported, meaning your help goes directly to the medications, equipment, food, and expertise required to save these crucial species. You make a difference and allow us to ensure the ongoing health of future generations of owls, eagles, hawks, falcons, and vultures.
Will You Help Us Save Baby Raptors This Spring?
Please give today and help us save baby raptors fighting against HPAI and the perils of life in the wild. Your gift will be matched dollar to dollar up to $35,000 - the babies are counting on you!
