Anybody who truly knows me knows how much of an effect kidney cancer has had on my family. I recently signed up to participate in the Climb 4 Kidney Cancer on August 19th at TCF Stadium in Minneapolis. It honors cancer survivors, remembers those who have lost their lives to it, and raises funds for research at the U of M Department of Urology. I will be getting up bright and early to race up and down all 6,054 stairs by myself to honor those in my family who recently showed kidney cancer who's boss, as well as to support others close to me who are currently fighting their battles.
I ask you all to take a moment out of your day, give up your Starbucks for just one morning, and donate to this immensely important cause. 100% of the proceeds from this event and donations will go to the University of Minnesota Foundation to fund Kidney Cancer Research. Examples of projects this will help support are the development of an exciting new medication for kidney cancer and advanced image analysis. If you are unable to donate, don't worry! I could use your support and well wishes on race day, which are equally as appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making a difference, even if it seems small. Remember, great things are done by a series of small things brought together!
