Laura Morlan was a dedicated and loving nurse on the 6th floor of Masonic Children's Hospital. She loved to speak of making her patients smile and playing games with them since she herself loved to play board games at home. She was always wanting to show her empathy and compassion for her patients. She enjoyed the movie and story of Patch Adams and she wished that love and laughter could cure all their ills. She lost her battle with mental illness on July 19 2017 at 31 years young. She was proud of being a great nurse and I, her husband Merrick, who spent a lot of time as a child admitted to hospitals due to his CF often told her he would have loved to have her as his nurse when he was a kid in the hospital. Laura loved to play games and wished that she could play with the kids more. I hope by keeping this fund going we can continue to share her love of play and compassion with the kids.
