I am hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2017 to continue to raise money for Balance Research and Support for people with dizziness. Last I year I raised over $4,000 and this year my goal is $4,500. You may not be affected by the difficulties of dizziness, but I talk weekly with people whose lives have been changed by unexpected and profound dizziness. It is a quiet disease because no one looks sick. But so much changes for people who cannot walk, drive, work, or participate in many activities. I would welcome tax deductible contributions of any amout but this campaign has the most personal rewards for you of anything going. First, you get to follow me on FaceBook and see beautiful pictures of the AT and read interesting commentary about bears and snakes and ticks, and poison ivy - all things you wish you could experience in your life. Second, for select categories of giving you get an unusual thank you gift from me: for a donation of $250 you get a poem dedicated to you and printed on my site, for a donation of $500 you get an 8X10 oil painting (unframed) of a beautiful scene from this year's hike, and for a donation of $1,000 or more you get a framed 12X16 oil painting of a scene that you choose from my pictures of the hike.
My hike this year goes from 30 east of Delaware Water Gap through New Jersey, New York, Conneticut, Massachuettes, and into Vermont. It is a touch over 300 miles and I plan to hike it in 30 days. I start on May 16 and go through June 16.
