We are seeking $22,000 to fund purchase of new specular microscopy imaging equipment. Your support will help us provide cornea surgeons high quality cornea tissue that is transplanted to restore sight for men, women and children.
Imagine not being able to work, read, play or watch a game, or drive because of poor or no vision. Daily Minnesota Lions Eye Bank partners with surgeons and researchers who work to restore sight. Our eye bank recovers donor eye tissue. We evaluate, prepare and provide it to surgeons for transplant and to scientists conducting research to develop treatments and cures.
A new specular microscope with a database analysis system will allow our lab scientists to more closely image the surface and layers of donated corneas, providing more detail about the condition of the cornea and the type of transplant surgery for which it can be used. Combined with a special database, we will be able to offer enhanced medical documentation of corneas to surgeons who will be performing transplant surgery.
Minnesota Lions Eye Bank helps restore and renew life through its work in recovering and providing eye tissue for transplant and research. Cornea transplants return people to productive and active lives – once again working and enjoying family and leisure activities, and work.
Join us as a partner in helping to restore sight by supporting our eye bank.
