Hello Friends and Family,
I signed up for the Gandy Dance 5K, to be run at a satellite location in Lakeville, on October 7th. I'm running to raise funds and awareness for the University of Minnesota Adoption Medicine Clinic. As many of you know, the team at the Clinic were instrumental in helping us review the boys' files and paperwork prior to travel and also saw both of them in clinic after we got home. Since then, Dr. Judy Eckerle and others at the Clinic have helped us work through various issues with the boys and their medical history.
They are a wonderful resource for many families and have completed over 30,000 pre-adoption reviews for children from over 40 countries.
In addition, the Clinic's top priorities are:
- Medical Reviews
- Travel Counseling
- Post Adoption Care
- Orphan Advocacy - Both here in the states and abroad
- FASD Research with adopted and foster care kids
Dr. Eckerle says this about the work at the Clinic:
Almost all of the children we see these days have special needs and/or a history of pre or post natal early adversity. Please help us continue to advocate for these children, teach the next generation of pediatricians and other professionals and help all adoptive families thrive.

Thank you for your donation!
PS: If you'd like to run with me on October 7th, let me know. We'll be running in the Orchard Lake area, Lakeville, MN. Suggested donation: $50 per person - Proceeds go to the Adoption Medicine Clinic. Includes a t-shirt that we'll wear on the day. Adult beverages on the deck afterwards.
