Our brother Kevin died at the age of 24 from medical problems (congenital heart defect and later, cancer.) He was a passionate believer in higher education. We’re asking for your monetary support of the endowed scholarship fund in his name. The U's Kevin Herkenhoff Memorial Scholarship Fund supports outstanding students at Patrick Henry High School to attend the U of M with a renewable scholarship for 4 years. The impact of your gift is doubled, because all scholarship awards are matched dollar-for-dollar by the U of M.
The Patrick Henry HS students who are recipients have such bright futures and dreams that they want to fulfill. We have met many – they are truly outstanding and have already dealt with many ‘odds’ against them, yet have risen above them. Just as Kevin did. They have proven themselves to be excellent students, involved in their community and often work as well. They want to live a better life and contribute to society. This scholarship is a BIG help to them to attain a college education and to realize their dreams.
We don't take lightly requesting people to donate to just any cause. We're very picky. But for this cause, we can assure you that any money you donate will go for a VERY good cause! Thank you for your consideration!
Sincerely,
Mary Jo (Herkenhoff) Cosio (mcosio@charter.net)
