First successful autologous transplant.

First cord blood transplant.

Establishment of ďBone Marrow Donors World WideĒ, an international collaboration to find volunteer donors.

Establishment of the BMT special interest group (SIG) of the Oncology Nursing Society.

1993

New York Cord Blood bank, the 1st Public Active Cord Blood Bank joined the Bone Marrow Donors World Wide network.

1996

Incorporation of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

Late 1990ís

Non myeloablative HSCTís being used with increased frequency.

1998

The first FACT accreditation awarded to a HSCT program.
