There is a village in Kenya who has asked for our help. The village of Nyansakia, Kenya has 2200 community members who do not have access to clean drinking water. People in Nyansakia must walk for hours every day to fetch contaminated water from depleting surface water sources. Students from the Engineers Without Borders chapter at UMD traveled to Nyansakia in January 2023 to construct a water distribution system capable of providing an abundant source of clean drinking water for the community. Today, our goal is to raise enough funds to install a solar powered pumping system to supply the distribution system with clean groundwater. If successful, students will return to the community again during the winter of 2023 to assess our system and make any operational adjustments that are necessary.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to cover construction and travel costs for students volunteering their time and effort for those in need.

We are reaching out to our local community to help another. A donation of any amount will help make a huge improvement in the health and quality of life for our brothers and sisters in Nyansakia. Will you join with us by making a tax-deductible donation?
